The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) examination is administered by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) in order to choose applicants to join the ARS of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) as scientists.
Prelims, Mains, and Viva Voce are the three phases of the ASRB ARS. Candidates must hold a master’s degree from any Indian university with a specialization in any discipline in order to compete in the ASRB ARS. Only those applicants are qualified to take the ARS main test.
Pen and paper are used to administer the ASRB ARS mains test. Based on their performance in the written test, candidates who made the cut for the mains are contacted for the Viva Voce. In ARS, candidates are ultimately chosen based on their performance in the main exam and viva voce.
